Lockdown in Sindh: “Unnecessary movement” in Karachi restricted from tomorrow as Sindh tightens Covid-19 SOPs

The chief minister issued instructions to the provincial police chief to stop the public from driving around for reasons other than emergencies and crucial work.

He also directed the officials concerned not to turn on the lights of the public parks after the sunset.

After a sharp spike in COVID-19 cases in the province after the Eid holidays, the Sindh government has decided to further tighten lockdown restrictions and imposing a ban on unnecessary movement after 8pm.

The decision to further tighten the restrictions came a day after the provincial authorities announced to extend the current coronavirus restrictions for two more weeks.

Positivity ratio

The coronavirus positivity ratio in District East of Karachi has increased to 21 per cent. Sindh Health Minister, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, has announced to establish special mobile units to vaccinate people of rural areas of the province against COVID-19.
