Pakistan planning to Digitize Hajj Experience with Mobile App for Pilgrims

17 Nov 2023 By Know Muslim

Pakistan will be introducing a mobile application to assist the 90,000 pilgrims who will be performing Hajj this year. The app will provide pilgrims with real-time navigation to important locations, translation services for multiple languages, emergency contact information, dua and prayer reminders, and health and safety tips.

The app is part of a larger effort by the Pakistani government to digitize the Hajj process and make it easier for pilgrims to perform their religious duties. Other initiatives include the introduction of a QR code suitcase that contains all the details of the individual pilgrim, and a dedicated call center that will provide 24/7 support to pilgrims.

The Pakistani government hopes that these initiatives will help to make the Hajj experience more efficient and enjoyable for pilgrims. The mobile app in particular is expected to be a valuable resource for pilgrims, as it will provide them with the information they need to navigate the Hajj process and make the most of their time in Mecca.

Here are some of the key features of the HajiGuide mobile application:

- Real-time navigation to important locations, such as the Haram, the Safa and Marwah hills, and the Mina and Muzdalifah tents.

- Translation services for multiple languages, including Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, and Punjabi.

- Emergency contact information for Pakistani embassies and consulates in Saudi Arabia.

- Dua and prayer reminders for all the important times of the Hajj.

- Health and safety tips, such as how to stay hydrated and avoid heatstroke.

The HajiGuide mobile application will be soon available for free download on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
