Pakistan’s IT exports surged by 39.62 percent in last four months

A rise on Pakistan's IT exports for 39pc to $830mln in July-Oct

Syed Amin Ul Haque, minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication stated that the IT export transfers, including telecommunication, computer and information services have surged to $830 million in July-October of the current monetary year. IT-related exports raised by $596 million during the last fiscal year.

The minister expected that IT exports would surpass the target of $3.5 billion by December 2022.

Last year was a disaster for several businesses economies around the world; however, more money has flowed into Pakistan’s technology sector during 2021, with investors from the Singapore and United Arab Emirates, joining the urgency.

During the last year, the renewed interest in IT services was reflected in the extraordinary investment in tech start-ups in Pakistan.

According to Invest2Innovate, the sum transferred into the country’s start-ups this year about million dollars by international standards. But it’s a record for Pakistan and to continue the funding flow is expected.
