Owners of luxury vehicles would pay higher rates, according to Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik, while low-income groups will receive cheaper fuel.

"You read that there should be a 50 difference in petroleum prices. The difference should now be Rs. 100, according to the PM's instruction, Malik said at a press conference on today.

It has been determined that owners of luxury cars will pay a higher price for petroleum goods in order to reduce the rate for low-income consumers.

Similar to this, the wealthy will also pay more for gas. I'd like to let you know that the decision regarding gas has already been enforced as of January 1," he stated.

The decision relating to petroleum products will be carried out during the next six weeks, he continued.

We shall take what God has blessed and give it to those who are working hard to provide for their families. This is our stance, and it will be shown across everything we do.

The meeting's chairman proposed incorporating consumers who use small vehicles, such as motorbikes, rickshaws, and 800 CC automobiles, in the petroleum subsidy.

He sent orders to all concerned parties to complete a plan as soon as possible and see to its proper execution.

In recent months, Pakistan has had a string of problems, including rising inflation, a perceived default risk, and a downgrading by foreign rating agencies. The economy has also had to deal with significant political unrest and frequent changes in senior leadership.
