World Heritage: The city of Taxila

The civilisation of first city Taxila valley, which was abandoned between

 first century B.C and the second century A.D by the Greeks,

Where remaining of ancient Gandhara’s civilization is still buried.

According to the Department of archaeology and museum’s deputy director.  He confirmed the discovery of other terracotta and broken pieces of bowls and pottery in intact condition were found here.

The archaeologists, Muhammad Hassan, Said that the discovery of “terra cotta” was evidence of human life and settlement in the ancient site. He Has optimistic opinion about some extraordinary and exclusive discoveries,  at the location after finding the two bowls here, which are mostly used by monks.

Initial investigation, showed that they belonged to the later age of the this cityand dated back to the 2nd century A.D.

In 1980, Bhir Mound,  along with several others excavations. It forms part City of Taxila inscribed as a Unesco World Heritage Site.
