The Pakistan national football team suffered a heavy 1-6 defeat to Tajikistan in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers match on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the Jinnah Sports Stadium in Islamabad, Pakistan. This result leaves Pakistan with a daunting task ahead if they are to qualify for the next round of the qualifiers.

Pakistan scored the only goal in the 21st minute, thanks to Rahis Nabi's wonder strike with his weaker foot.

The defeat was Pakistan's second in as many matches in the qualifiers, having lost 4-0 to Saudi Arabia in their opening match. They will now have to face Jordan next match.

"We are disappointed with the result, but we will take it on the chin and move on," Constantine said.

The defeat was a major setback for Pakistan's hopes of qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in their history. They will now need to produce a miracle if they are to achieve that goal.

Pakistan will now need to pick themselves up and dust themselves down before they face Jordan in their next match on March 21, 2024. The match will be played in Islamabad, Pakistan.
