NASA TRYING TO SAVE EARTH

NASA launches new spacecraft in a bid to save Earth from disaster.

NASA scientists have sent a spacecraft into space to test technology that could prevent a dangerous planet from colliding with Earth in the future.

NASA's mission is called “Mission Dart,” on the basis of which it will consider a long-term proposal to deactivate a large space rock approaching Earth.

DART with 'Dimorphos'

The spaceship will collide with a meteor named Demorphus. NASA scientists are trying to see how much the speed and trajectory of demorphs can be changed.

The magnitude of the work scientists is trying to do can be measured by the fact that if a portion of a few hundred meters of cosmic debris hits the earth.

The Falcon Nine space rocket launched the DART spacecraft from Wendenberg Space Force Base in California at 6:20 a.m. international time.

While Demorphus does not pose a threat to Earth, this is the first attempt to learn how to deal with such threats to Earth in the future. I mean, if this debris hits the ground tomorrow, how do we stop it from entering?

Kelly Fast

Kelly Fast of NASA's Planetary Defense Coordination Office said, “Dart is trying to make a small change to the length of DeMorphs orbit, and that's all we need to keep a planet from. get closer to us in the future.

Rock samples collected on Mars by the NASA spacecraft have disappeared

The cost of collecting moonstones is only one dollar.

How are the planets created? A change in the old ideology.

Commenting on the launch of the Dart mission spacecraft, Kelly said, "We're not out of the woods yet. We have to get it to Demorphs, but it's a big step in that direction."

But when such a rock revolves around the sun and heads towards the earth, it is likely to collide with the earth.

The $ 320 million dart mission will hit a pair of asteroids orbiting each other. These orbits are said to be binary. The larger of these two planets is called Daddy Moss, which is around 780 meters wide. The demorphs are about 524.934 foot wide.

The impact of a Demorphus-sized planet hitting Earth would be as great as the energy of many atomic bombs. It could cost millions of lives. But space rocks up to 300 meters and larger can destroy continents, and space rocks up to one kilometer can endanger the entire Earth.

Dart Speed

Dart will continue to orbit in space until September 2022, then hit its target at a distance of 6.7 million kilometers from Earth.

Dart will collide with Demorphus at a speed of approximately 15,000 miles per hour. Therefore, the direction of the demophores should only change a few millimeters. If that happened, your class would change.

It might seem like a small change, but that's all it takes to keep a space rock from hitting the ground. However, it is not easy to do.

Space rocks near the earth.

“There are a lot of smaller planets in space than the bigger ones, so they pose the biggest threat,” said Tom Stetler, NASA's program scientist for the mission.

In 2005, the United States Congress asked NASA to track 90% of near-Earth satellites that could pose a potential threat to Earth. So far, NASA has only been able to identify 40%.

Dart also has a camera called Draco that will take photos of his mission to determine the right direction to hit the spacecraft delays.

About 10 days before reaching its goal, Dart will use a small satellite called Lycia Cube. This buggy will send photos after the collision.

Even small changes in the way Demorphus spins will be measured with telescopes on Earth. "We want to know if we have really changed the orbit of the planet and, if so, how effectively we have done it," says Tom Sttitler.

It is an excellent laboratory for this type of test. Based on this experience, the Demorphus should change course by about one percent. But the exact address will be known in a few weeks or months thanks to the telescopes on the ground.

There is also uncertainty about what Demorphus will do after targeting Dart as we don't know its internal structure. If the demurfus is solid inside, then obviously a lot of debris will come out which will push it
