Pakistan vs Bangladesh: Pakistan win Test series 2-0, Sajid Khan bags 12 wickets

DHAKA: Sajid Khan won 4-86 and finished with 12 wickets in the match as Pakistan battled a dim light to beat Bangladesh by innings and eight runs and take the Test-Test 2 series. -0 in Dhaka on Wednesday.

All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan let go of Bangladesh's middle order but was unable to save evenly as the last wicket for the athletes came out just minutes before he was dead.

Shakib scored Bangladesh's top score with 63 runs off 130 balls and while he went on to do all 4,000 runs and 200 wickets, the fastest record in history and breaking the record held by Ian Botham.

But with the exception of a 51-run partnership with Mehidy Hossain in the seventh wicket, Bangladesh's hopes were dashed when Pakistan captain Babar Azam shut down his teammate.

"I saw fit to throw in that moment and I was very happy to get the wicket," Babar said of his first Test wicket.

"Our strikers, especially the openers, started us off well and our idea was to dominate even though the weather was not good," he added.

Sajid, who took 8-42 in the first innings, smashed defending Shakib in the next over to get him out.

He also took the last two wickets when the light began to dim, preventing Pakistan's fast bowlers from throwing tail players.

Mushfqur Rahim and Liton Das had previously scored 48 and 45 runs respectively for Bangladesh, but two wickets each by Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi held the team 25-4 after Pakistan forced to follow.

Mushfiqur formed a good relationship with Liton and Shakib before he ran out of tea.

"In the second innings we had a chance to play better than the first," said Bangladesh captain Monimul Haque.

"While some of our senior players played well, we couldn't wait."

Athletes can only add another 11 runs in their first innings after a restart with three wickets left to take 87, their lowest points at home and 213 points behind Pakistan.

Sajid hit his first over in the morning to block Taijul Islam's leg before Afridi ousted Khaled Ahmed with the next over.

Shakib Al Hasan was the last man to be released when he caught Azhar Ali in the Sajid short zone after making 33 runs, the highest in the Bangladesh innings.

There were only 63.2 overs in the first three days due to rain and poor light.

Pakistan has announced its first innings by 300-4.
