Saudi Arabia has banned the international Islamic revivalist movement in India, citing fears that it is a "threat to society" and "one of the gates to terrorism."
The news comes as the country's Ministry of Islamic Affairs earlier this month called on its network of mosques to use Friday sermons to warn loyalists against the groups "misguidance, deviation and danger".
According to a ministry statement, affiliation with the Tablighi Jamaat and other extremist groups is prohibited in the country.
