FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar: Group stage completes & Round of 16 Fixtures

With the World Cup in Qatar is now entered in its knockout phase, starting from today 3rd December, we’ve already seen one of the best group stage matches in terms of quality of football and some historic upsets in this world cup. We hope that this world cup will keep surprising us with its nail biting & end-to-end entertainment in the Round of 16 as well.

Sixteen of the 32 teams who qualified for the tournament will proceed to the next round. A look at the historic group stage matches of World Cup 2022:

Round of 16 Fixtures:

After an electrifying group phase, Belgium’s ‘golden generation’ and World Cup powerhouse Germany have been sent out of the world cup while the likes of Japan, Morocco and Australia have upset many pre-tournament predictions by progressing into week three of football's biggest event.

Saturday 03rd December: We will be straight back into action on Saturday as Netherlands get things under way with the early game against the United States at the Khalifa International Stadium, while Lionel Messi will once again carry Argentina’s hopes as they will face Australia in the evening at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.

Sunday 04th December: Tournament favorites France, who lost their final group game against Tunisia, will face Poland in the early kick off at Al Thumama Stadium. One of the five unbeaten team in the tournament England will play Senegal in the evening at Al Bayt Stadium.

Monday 05th December: The Group E winner Japan will take on the last world cup’s Runner up Croatia at Al Janoub Stadium. The second game of the day will be against Brazil and South Korea at the Stadium 974.

Tuesday 06th December: The final day of the round of 16 matches starts with the 2010 World Cup champions Spain against the Group F winners Morocco at the Education City Stadium. The evening game will be Portugal against Switzerland at the Lusail Stadium.
