England 3-0 Senegal: England ease past Senegal with a 3-0 victory in last 16; First-half goals from Jordan Henderson and Harry Kane set Three Lions on their way; Bukayo Saka rounded off what in the end was a comfortable night for England; win sets up huge quarter-final showdown with France.

Japan 1-1 Croatia (Pen: 1-3): Daizen Maeda gave Japan the lead; Ivan Perisic's header levelled for Croatia shortly after the break; Dominik Livakovic saved three penalties as the game went to a shootout for the first time at the 2022 World Cup; Croatia to Brazil in Friday's quarter-final.

Brazil 4-1 South Korea: Brazil coast into the quarter-final of the 2022 World Cup after a crushing 4-1 win over South Korea at Stadium 974; Neymar moves to within one goal of Pele's record of 77 goals for Brazil with early penalty; Vinicius Junior, Lucas Paqueta and Richarlison also on target. Seung-Ho Paik reduced the deficit with a thumping strike in the 76th minute.

Morocco 0-0 Spain (Pen: 3-0): Spain are dumped out 3-0 on penalties by Morocco; Nayef Aguerd headed over in the first half for Morocco as Spain's attack faltered; Pablo Sarabia grazed a post with a volley in the final minute of extra-time; Morocco will face Portugal on Saturday.
